While licensed music is nothing new to video games, in a game like Tony Haw's Pro Skater 3+4, the soundtrack is more noticeable, given how the music should blend with the skater culture.

Just a few days ago, Activision revealed the official soundtrack for the upcoming re-release of the skating games, and fans quickly noticed how some old favorites were removed to add new songs. It's not Activision trying to avoid paying music license fees or anything of the sort, as Tony Hawk himself changed it.

Tony Hawk Wants Players To Discover New Music While Playing Pro Skater 3+4

If you notice some fan-favorite tracks are missing, it's because Tony Hawk has decided to inject new music into the game. Commenting on Instagram (via VGC), Hawl said, "It was my choice to pick some different songs by the same artists featured in THPS3+4 OST. I’m hoping that discovery is half the fun, and a big reason that these soundtracks resonated in the first place. So listen and enjoy the ride. More to come… both old and new."
