Monster Hunter is arguably more popular than ever right now, with Monster Hunter Wilds looking like it has built on the popularity of World very successfully. Having now reached over 10 million players in its first month, there are more than a few newcomers to the series in the number, and a few are running into some problems when it comes to multiplayer etiquette.

A Reddit user called Killertofu808 is one such newcomer that was confused about the etiquette surrounding whether to capture or slay monsters. In their post on the Monster Hunter Wilds subreddit, they reveal that when they captured a monster, the party leader demanded that they be the one to decide if they capture or kill a monster. They then seemingly kicked Killertofu808 out of the hunting party for their mistake.

The post has since popped off on the subreddit, igniting discussion surrounding the etiquette of capturing versus slaying a monster, and there is a fairly wide amount of opinion on the matter. One of the more common is expressed by a user called TheBostonKremeDonut, who argues that the standard practice should be to slay unless told not to by the party leader.
