Fast and Furious Crossroads Debuts Gameplay in a New Trailer

Slightly Mad Studios has revealed Fast and Furious Crossroads gameplay for the first time. The game has been dated to arrive on August 7 for PS4, Xbox One, and Steam.

Crossroads was first revealed at The Game Awards 2019. It stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson as they reprise their years-long roles as Dom, Letty, and Roman respectively. Alongside the series' veterans, star of The Walking Dead and Star Trek: Discovery, Sonequa Martin-Green will be joining the cast, as will John Wick 3's Asia Kate Dillon.

Though the game is built on driving mechanics, it's not a racer. Instead, the team behind the game calls it a "team-based, vehicular-heist action game." It makes sense, after all. The blockbuster movie franchise moved past the street racing circuit and into multinational and governmental drama many sequels ago.

You can catch a first look at gameplay in the new trailer below.

While some have questioned Crossroads' merits given the history of licensed games, the action-driving game comes from Slightly Mad Studios, the expert team behind the Project Cars series, so there's pedigree behind it to believe in the project. The team has also teased a three-way multiplayer mode which they call "unprecedented" and are set to debut in the weeks ahead.

You can get behind the wheel when Fast and Furious Crossroads launches on August 7.
