Where the heck is the Final Fantasy 9 remake? That's one of the gaming industry's biggest mysteries at the moment, as the title was part of an infamous Nvidia leak years ago. Ever since, it's only been vague guesses and teasers from insiders, the latest coming from NateTheHate, who claimed the game is still in "active development".
With Final Fantasy 9's big 25-year anniversary coming up, it is going to be a little disappointing that we won't see the remake release for the occasion, but Square Enix did at least launch a new website full of merch you can pick up if you're feeling nostalgic. One of those pieces is a new vinyl called Final Fantasy IX Anniversary Vinyl - Timeless Tale, and that title has caused a bit of a stir.
Over on the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, a user by the name of Puzzled-Run-574 noticed that someone claimed that the remake might be called Final Fantasy IX Timeless Tale well over two months ago. In this post, a user called TomAto314 claimed that they saw a listing for a 'Final Fantasy IX Timeless Tale' at the place where they work.
