The latest Sea of Thieves update has arrived. In Lost Treasures, Rare has addressed several quality of life areas of the game, including one that reworks its Tall Tales story campaign.

Currently there are 12 Tall Tales chapters. Without a guide each one can take players anywhere from 2-5 hours, which made them difficult to play if you were a player short on time. Thankfully, with Lost Treasures, the Tall Tales are infused with new checkpoints, allowing players to save their progress and return to the story later.

This fix is the marquee change to a subtler but still vital update as Rare releases its first patch built entirely from a home for its pandemic-stricken studio. Other changes include a smarter way to interact with rowboats. The button to open the rowboat chest has been remapped by default, no longer asking players to finely tilt the controls until the "sit in rowboat" prompt turns to "open rowboat chest." Now they're mapped to X and Y respectively on the Xbox controller, meaning you won't be stuck sitting over and over when trying to get into the chest.

For players who find themselves on the Ferry of the Damned, waiting to respawn, there's now an armory aboard which allows you to choose a new loadout. If you're getting griefed by an invading crew and you've got the wrong tools to defend yourself, now the Ferry's armory will let you retool before you dive back into the action.

Daily bounties have come to the game too, which new challenges cycling in every 24 hours to keep players invested in chasing additional loot. Meanwhile, new items have come to both the Black Market and the Pirate Emporium, including new Ruby Splashtail cosmetics for both ships and pirates.

The latest Xbox crossover ship is inbound too in the form of a State of Decay 2-inspired Blighted Bonus cosmetics. The orange ship cosmetics will be available via an upcoming in-game event for a limited time before they later appear in the Emporium.

The full patch notes can be read on the game's website. The patch is available now.
