Who doesn't want free stuff, right? For players who own a PS4 and/or a PS5, you have a freebie from Sony and you might not even know it, and we're here to remind you to get a move on before it's gone.

This limited-time freebie is something Sony announced recently, though without much fanfare, so chances are, a lot of people forgot about it already.

Sony Dishes Out Freebie As An Apology

In early February of this year, the PlayStation Network suffered an outage that lasted for 24 hours, with Sony not giving a proper explanation as to what happened.

Because of the inconvenience, Sony announced they are giving everyone five free days of PlayStation Plus. While those with an active subscription will have the free days stack on top of their existing time left, those who aren't active PS Plus subscribers will be notified by email—yes, email, not the console itself. Why did Sony choose this method to give out this freebie? I'm as confused as you are.
