FromSoftware is releasing Elden Ring: Nightreign later this year, but we don't know much else about the developer's plans for the future. Before today, there were no new games on the horizon, with Elden Ring: Nightreign acting as more of a spinoff title to bridge the gap between now and its next big project.
Not many of us would have expected a new FromSoftware game to be announced during a Nintendo Direct, but that's exactly what's happened. Announced during the show, FromSoftware's next big title is called The Duskbloods, a completely new RPG from the studio that has strong Bloodborne vibes. Interestingly, The Duskbloods will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, and is launching in 2026.
The Duskbloods' first trailer is pretty extensive too, giving us a good look at the game's map, as well as some of the gameplay mechanics. For example, we can see that Elden Ring's jumping mechanic is carrying over, as is the more open world level design, and horseback riding. We see a character literally sucking the soul out of an enemy, possibly hinting at some kind of power absorption mechanic too.
Yep, Bloodborne is better than Elden Ring.
Outside of that, we didn't...
