Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire was scheduled for next week, but now CD Projekt says it's not the right time.

In a tweet, the Polish game studio announced it is pushing the date of Night City Wire from June 11 to June 25 to allow the historic moment of Black Lives Matter protests play out.

"We decided to move Night City Wire to Jun 25th. We still look forward to sharing new information about CP’77, but more important discussions are happening right now and we want them to be heard. We wholeheartedly stand against racism, intolerance and violence. Black Lives Matter."

The move is the latest and likely not the last in a string of similar postponements this week. Most recently, we've seen Call of Duty Modern Warfare season 4 get pushed to a date to be determined after originally being scheduled for this pas Tuesday.

The Call of Duty delay followed other prominent delays in the games industry as creators step aside to allow protesters voices be heard. A Madden NFL 21 reveal event was delayed until further notice, followed closely by Sony putting its PS5 games reveal event, once scheduled for June 4, on hold as well. In each case, the teams have stressed that they stand with the protesters and are choosing to wait for a more appropriate time to discuss video games.

The next few weeks are meant to be loaded with video game showcases across several platforms, as you can see in our Not E3 summer schedule. It will be interesting to see whether more events are moved out of the way. Should the protests continue, we expect at least some, if not all, upcoming games events will get rescheduled for later this summer.
