A new extended commercial has been released for The Last of Us Part II.

The new commercial for The Last of Us Part II captures the intensity that gamers should expect from the upcoming game. The commercial, which can be seen here, starts with Ellie playing a guitar at a campfire for her lover Dina. We cut to Ellie running from human pursuers and a large group of the infected, desperately trying to get away from those that are chasing her. The commercial shows us the emotion and sense of urgency that the game will feature, with the intense action being at the front and center. It also shows what Ellie will be dealing with throughout the game, and the choices that she will have to make on her journey.

Earlier this week it was revealed that The Last of Us Part II's story leaks from earlier this year have not affected its sales of the game so far. According to PlayStation boss Jim Ryan, The Last of Us Part II is selling strong. He stated that UK preorders for Naughty Dog's upcoming title are higher than Marvel's Spider-Man were at the same point before it released. This is impressive as Marvel's Spider-Man was considered one of the best games to release in 2018.

Ryan also stated that Sony has no plans to bring The Last of Us Part II over to the PlayStation 5 when it releases this holiday season. However, he did say that the game will have no issue running on the upcoming console when it comes out.

The Last of Us Part II will release on June 19th exclusively for the PlayStation 4. The review embargo for the game will drop on June 12th, so stay tuned to OpenCritic to see what critics have to say about the game.
