Astro Bot Movie "Absolutely" Pursued By Sony

WIth the success of HBO's The Last of Us TV series, Sony is now looking to adapt more video game properties that it owns either to cinemas, or as TV shows.

The latest game targeted by Sony? None other than multi-award-winning platformer, Astro Bot.

Astro Bot Is "Absolutely" Something Sony Wants To Do

This latest development regarding the Astro Bot IP was revealed by PlayStation Productions chief Asad Qizilbash in an interview with Variety.

Qizilbash shared that they are "absolutely" looking at the potential for the game to be added to PlayStation's growing list of adaptations. No doubt incentivized by the massive take Nintendo's family-friendly The Super Mario Bros. Movie managed to achieve, ending its theatrical run with a staggering $1.3 billion box office receipt.

So far, there are 10 projects from PlayStation Productions when it comes to adaptations. There's HBO's The Last of Us, Amazon's God of War series, a Sony film adaptation of Horizon Zero Dawn, a movie adaptation of Helldivers 2 and more.
