Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has become quite the success.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has sold over one million copies. In a video, producer Koji Igarashi announced the feat, and thanked fans who have supported the game. He thanks the game's backers, and reveals that there is more content for the game on the way.
"This is a remarkable milestone for any game, but it is especially sweet considering the humble beginnings of the project," states the game's website. "Bloodstained wouldn't exist without the passion and faith of the many Kickstarter backers who made the game a reality. What started as a small idea quickly turned into a phenomenon with more backers and support from the community than we could have ever expected."
Along with the announcement that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has sold over one million copies, a development roadmap for the rest of the year was revealed (which can be seen here). A Boss Revenge Mode will be released on June 23rd for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox one. The mode will come to the Switch at a later date. The mode has players take control of one of the title's bosses and fight the game's heroes. More options for character customization will also be released on June 23rd.
In Q3 of 2020, a VS Mode will be released, which has players compete against each other. There will also be a Chaos Mode, which is a boss rush for one to two players. The mode includes randomized drops and special sub goals that will grant players more equipment when they are completed. Finally, there will be a Classic Mode. This mode will feature an 80s-style that has Miriam face off against a series of sub-bosses across five levels and three difficulties.
A new character will be released in Q4 of 2020. No details on who this playable character will be were given other than the fact that it is not Dominique.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
