The PlayStation Future of Gaming digital event is nearly here. To not miss a minute of the show, follow along with the stream right here. The PS5 games reveal event is today, June 11, at 1 pm Pacific. The YouTube video below will automatically stream the show when it's time.
With this being the first major reveal of the PS5, hype is at an all-time high for the console. It's expected we'll see a host of new IP, major sequels, and likely some remasters and indies too.
Some of the most expected titles to be revealed today include:
Horizon Zero Dawn sequel - The follow-up to 2017's critical and commercial hit from Guerrilla Games has long been expected and even leaked a few times. Its appearance at the show today is all but guaranteed, though some wonder whether the game will be ready to launch alongside the PS5 as the pandemic has slowed game development across the board. It was rumored recently that there may be some sort of prologue experience for the Horizon sequel, which may even introduce co-op to the series too. If true, it may be that the full sequel arrives later but fans can play the standalone bridge chapter when PS5 launches this fall. We should have confirmation today.
Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War - Though the name may differ, with some calling it just Cold War and others just Black Ops, the once troubled project was seemingly saved by Treyarch and will very likely launch this fall as Call of Duty always does. It's unclear whether this is a reboot of the Black Ops story or a new story set in the same timeline, but as with Horizon, we're all but guaranteed to know today.
Resident Evil 8 - Capcom has been churning out Resident Evil content like it's their job - oh right, it is. It sounds like 2021's Resident Evil entry will be officially titled Resident Evil 8. According to usually reliable leaks, Ethan returns as the protagonist but it joined by two more playable characters. The game is also said to continue the first-person presentation of Resident Evil 7.
Other rumored games to be shown today include a Silent Hill reboot, the next game from Housemarque, and perhaps a new Gran Turismo. Watch it all here with us, then get ready for the next event in this endless summer of Not E3 events.
