After years of dormancy, things have started to happen around Hollow Knight: Silksong. It received an update on Steam's backend for the first time in six years, and then, although only briefly in a sizzle reel, the game appeared during Nintendo's Switch 2 direct, confirming it's still planned for release later this year.
Don't give me hope like that.
Now, in another piece of good news, a member of Hollow Knight: Silksong's marketing team has confirmed that the game will be releasing on the original Nintendo Switch.
Seeing as it appeared in Nintendo's Switch 2 Direct, and not the one it held a week earlier for the original Switch, there was some concern in the Hollow Knight: Silksong community that the game wouldn't be coming to Nintendo's soon-to-be last-gen hardware. Thankfully, that isn't going to be the case.
Aware of the situation, Matthew Griffin, who works in marketing and publishing for Hollow Knight's Team Cherry (and on Crowsworn for Mongoose Rodeo, one of my most-anticipated games), tweeted the following:
Just to clarify... Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to both Nintendo Switch AND the Nintendo Switch 2.
It's likely to be news to the ears of those...
