If you own a Nintendo Switch, there's a very high possibility that you've encountered one issue that has plagued the console throughout the years, which still hasn't been resolved by the company.

Most Switch owners will have already guessed what I'm referring to, which is the stick drift problem. If you're hoping the Switch 2 won't have this issue due to the new tech and features, we have some bad news for you.

Nintendo Switch 2 Won't Feature Hall Effect Sticks Confirmed

I come as a bearer of bad news. For those hoping Nintendo changes the technology in the Switch 2's analog sticks, they are improving it, but it won't incorporate Hall Effect sticks.

This was confirmed by Nate Bihldorff, Senior Vice President of Product Development & Publishing at Nintendo of America in an interview, who deflected questions about it, though mentioned how quiet the sticks were on the Switch Pro Controller.

When asked if the Joy-Con 2 is using a Hall Effect stick or inpsired by Hall Effect sticks, Bihldorff replied, "Well, the Joy-Con 2's controllers have been designed from the ground up. They're not Hall Effect sticks, but they feel really good."
