It looks like it won't be too long before fans can play the first new Mafia game in nearly a decade. That's because it appears that its release date has been accidentally revealed on Steam.
According to a blog post on the Latin American Steam storefront, Mafia: The Old Country will be launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC on August 8, 2025. The eighth happens to be a Friday, which is historically when major Triple-A titles have been launched.
The blog post, which is still up as of this writing, is advertising a PAX East panel that Hangar 13 will be hosting on May 8. The panel, which was announced on Thursday, is set to reveal new details about the upcoming game, with a release date likely part of things. However, the blog post has seemingly accidentally spoiled the big surprise.
For whatever reason, the English-language version of the blog post doesn't have the release date, making this a rather unfortunate miscue.
Having never succeeded critically, Mafia is hoping to change that with The Old Country.
