It has been announced that Marvel's Avengers will be coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and will offer players who buy the game on current gen consoles the opportunity to upgrade for free.
In a press release, Square Enix confirmed that Marvel's Avengers will be making the leap to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X when the consoles release this holiday season. The upgraded versions of the game will feature extremely fast load times, boosted resolution and fidelity, improved texturing and armor damage, ray tracing, and more.
The PlayStation 5 version of the game will fully utilize the ultra-high speed SSD, the DualSense's advanced haptics, and immersive spatial audio. Players will also be able to customize their visual experience with their choice of Enhanced Graphics Mode or High Framerate Mode. Details for the Xbox Series X and PC versions of the game will come at a later date.

It has also been announced that those who buy the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Marvel's Avengers can upgrade to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions for free. When transferring their profiles to the next gen consoles, players will be able to transfer their saves and progress as well. This will allow gamers to pick up right where they left off. The game will also allow cross-gen play, meaning that those who own the PlayStation 5 version of the game can play with PlayStation 4 gamers, and Xbox Series X gamers can play with those who own the Xbox One version of Marvel's Avengers.
Marvel's Avengers releases on September 4th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game's next War Table event will take place on June 24th. The event will take place at 10:00 a.m. PST, and will give more information on the game. This includes a look at co-op and brand new gameplay content.
