Blue Prince isn't just one of this year's best indie games - it's going toe to toe with some of the biggest names in the industry. At the time of writing, Blue Prince is currently the joint-highest-rated game of the year so far, sharing the title with Hazelight's Split Fiction, and beating titles such as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds.
It's a truly impressive feat for developer Dogubomb, who recently revealed that Magic: The Gathering was one of the reasons why the game was possible to make in the first place. MTG fans will most likely be familiar with a website called Mythic Spoiler, which allows fans to preview upcoming MTG sets in an easy-to-view gallery setting. It's a very successful site, and has been around for over a decade.
Turns out, the person responsible for Mythic Spoiler is also responsible for Blue Prince. In a new page on the Mythic Spoiler website, it reveals that the site allowed its creator to pursue a career in video game development, and that all the ad revenue that Mythic Spoiler has generated over the past eight years has gone into the development of Blue Prince....
