Fortnite continues its expansion toward an all-encompassing metaverse this weekend with three different Christopher Nolan movies that will play multiple times each within the game.
Beginning on Friday morning in the Pacific time zone, players who jump into Fortnite's social mode, Party Royale, can catch either Inception, Batman Begins, or The Prestige depending on their region.
In the US, we get Inception, the dream within a dream within a dream thriller about espionage and vans falling off bridges. The showings begin at 5 am Pacific on June 26, this Friday. A second showing starts 12 hours later at 5 pm, with a third and final showing at 8:55 pm.
In the UK, players get The Prestige, Nolan's twisty story of magicians starring Wolverine and Batman themselves, Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. Just one showing will occur, at 5 pm local in the UK.
This marks the first time full-length films will be shown in Fortnite's new social hub, but you can expect many more to come as Party Royale continues to grow into its own fascinating virtual hangout space. Recently, the game has also hosted concerts from DJs like Dillon Francis, the premiere of Quibi's Punk'd revival series, and exclusive first looks at movies like Star Wars Episode IX and Nolan's next heady blockbuster, Tenet..
Party Royale is still in its infancy relative to the main draw of battle royale, so while we can't say for sure what it will evolve into over time, no doubt Epic Games has big plans for its new experimental space. For the full Friday Movie Nite schedule, visit Epic's official website.
