We now know when to expect reviews for the upcoming PlayStation exclusive Ghost of Tsushima to release.
The review embargo for Ghost of Tsushima, the latest game from developer Sucker Punch, will drop on July 14th, a few days before the game's release. The embargo will drop at 7:00 a.m. PST.
Ghost of Tsushima takes place in the late 13th century. The Mongol empire has laid waste to entire nations as they continue their campaign to conquer the East. Tsushima Island is all that stands in the way between mainland Japan and the Mongol horde. As Tsushima burns from the first wave of the Mongol assault, Jin Sakai stands as one of the last members of his clan. He chooses to do whatever it takes to protect his people and reclaim his homeland from its invaders. He sets aside the traditions that had shaped him into a warrior, taking on the path of the Ghost, and wages a war as he fights for the freedom of his homeland.
Ghost of Tsushima features an open-world with vast countrysides and expansive terrain where players will meet rich characters and uncover the beauty of Tsushima. Throughout his adventure, Jin must seek support from old friends and unlikely allies as he tries to protect what's left of his homeland, no matter the cost. Players will be able to challenge enemies with their katana for immersive samurai combat experiences, master the bow in order to eliminate distant enemies, and develop stealth tactics to disorient and ambush foes with surprise attacks.
Ghost of Tsushima will release for the PlayStation 4 on July 17th. The game was originally meant to release in June, but was pushed back in order to make room for The Last of Us Part II after it was delayed. Stay tuned to OpenCritic to see what reviewers thought of the game.
