The lead programmer for Kingdom Hearts Missing Link has updated his portfolio and shared more information about the game, indicating that it's not cancelled but has gone through a shift that could explain the long wait.

While most Kingdom Hearts fans have their sights and hearts set on the fourth mainline game eventually waking up from its three-year-long slumber and finally sharing more information, it's not the only series project that's missing in action. The other, more concerning, silence comes from Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link, the latest mobile game in the series and one that apes Pokemon Go.

With the Switch 2 being a more powerful console, Kingdom Hearts shouldn't have to be cloud-based anymore.

Missing Link was announced three years ago and, while it's had more updates than Kingdom Hearts 4 and was even playable through betas, it's lived up to its name and gone completely missing in the past year since it was delayed into 2025. Some feared it was cancelled or hoped it was being moved to consoles, but neither of those outcomes appears to be the case.
