The actor Nicky Katt has passed away at the age of 54. Katt, who was best known for a long line of supporting roles, appeared in films such as Dazed and Confused, School of Rock, The Limey, and Sin City.

However, the gaming community would know him from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 - The Sith Lords. Here, Katt played Atton Rand, one of the first companions you meet and a compelling Star Wars character in his own right.

News of Katt's passing was reported by Deadline over the weekend. Here, a cause of death is not confirmed, although Variety reports that he died on April 8, last Tuesday.

Alongside his numerous supporting roles in various films, often working with directors such as Christopher Nolan, Richard Linklater, and Robert Rodriguez, he also appeared in the US drama Boston Public for two years, and had roles in Friends and King of the Hill.
