One of the games revealed during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct will be Donkey Kong Bananza, which will be the maximum resolution the console can reach when it launches this June.
Nintendo shared this information in the latest issues of its digital Nintendo Magazine 2025 Special Issue (Ivia WCCFTech), which revealed the platformer's technical capabilities.
Donkey Kong Bananza Handheld Performance Revealed
Per Nintendo, Donkey Kong Bananza will run up to 1080p resolution, 60 frames-per-second (fps) with HDR (High Dynamic Range) in Handheld mode. This should mean a buttery-smooth experience for the game assuming it can maintain that 60fps throughout the game even if there are loads of happening on screen.
Given how it's infrequent for launch titles to tap the maximum capabilities of a console, there is a chance that future games can perform better, though 1080p at a consistent 60fps for a handheld? Yeah, that's freakin' good already.
