Well, the so-called Silksongers have won a spiritual victory today. Today's official announcement that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be delayed until May 2026 means there's now a strong chance that Silksong will be released before Rockstar's presumptive mega-hit.
Several Reddit threads have cropped up on the Silksong subreddit, each one celebrating this supposed victory. "We are getting Silksong before GTA 6," writes H1ghP1ckHEGALE. "Rockstar is so scared," reads the title of Sketchek_X's post, which posits that GTA 6 was delayed to avoid clashing with Silksong's release.
It's difficult to say whether Hollow Knight fans in 2017 expected a sequel before Grand Theft Auto 6, but either way, their victory looks assured. We got Silksong before Grand Theft Auto 6, The Elder Scrolls 6 and Half-Life 3 will be the rallying cry on the lips of Silksongers around the world.
