PS5 Price Increase Is Possible, Analyst Claims

Yesterday, Microsoft drastically increased the prices of all Xbox consoles, accessories, and games across different regions, shocking the industry as a whole.

Consequently, Xbox Series S now costs $380, and Xbox Series X price has been increased to $600. Additionally, some of the future Xbox games will also be priced at $80.

The most interesting part was probably the fact that, at this moment, the 2TB model of Xbox Series X costs even more than Sony’s mid-gen upgrade PlayStation 5 Pro in the United States!

Microsoft's reason for these price increases was “market conditions.” In other words, new US tariffs, which should affect PS5 console prices as well in the near future, were the reason.

US Tariffs Will Affect PS5 Prices As Well

If the prices of PlayStation consoles increase on the same scale as the Xbox, then PS5 base model would cost $550 while PS5 Pro could become as expensive as $800.

On platform X, Daniel Ahmad, Niko Partners analyst, discussed consoles’ price increases and predicted that we might see a price hike for PlayStation 5 consoles and games as well:
