It looks like Valve’s upcoming shooter-MOBA hybrid Deadlock, which is still in alpha testing, has a newer build that’s even more exclusive.
Deadlock, the company’s worst-kept secret, entered its invite-only alpha test back in 2024, and the game has been continually updated ever since.
However, a prominent streamer in the Deadlock community who goes by Deathy seemingly accidentally opened the wrong build of the game on a recent stream (reported by Eurogamer), showing off a significantly larger roster than most players have access to.
He didn’t have it open for long, but the internet never forgets, and screenshots have been circulating on Reddit.
New And Redesigned Characters
From the screenshots on Reddit, while the regular version of Deadlock currently features 30 playable characters, the secret build bumps that number up to 40, and also has some noticeable redesigns for existing characters.
Comparing the two rosters, you can see significant design updates for characters like Pocket, Ivy, Dynamo, and Abrams, among others, along with new additions like Drifter, Bookworm, Vampirebat, and Swan, who seems to have the same design as more-public character Paradox.
Considering how good the game already is, these updates promise to improve it even...
