Yesterday, the video game community was buzzing with what seemed to be confirmation that Square Enix was working on a Chrono Trigger remake.
If you got excited about the news, I don't blame you, as Chrono Trigger is considered by many to be one of the best RPGs of all time.
Video Confirms Dragon Quest Creator Didn't Confirm Anything
While our report yesterday mentioned that Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii accidentally confirmed the remake during an event in Naples, a video that surfaced recently debunked the game creator saying anything about this.
The video confirms Horri never actually said anything about a Chrono Trigger remake. Check the footage for yourself in the video below:
That puts an end on things, sadly. Of course, there is a chance that Sqiare Enix is working on a Chrono Trigger remake but has yet to announce it. Or perhaps they'll see the reaction and act on it? One can hope.
A Chrono Trigger remake makes sense because not only did the Final Fantasy 7 remakes do well, but even the Dargon Quest III HD-2D Remake was reviewed well and sold enough to exceed Square Enix's expectations.
