Babylon's Fall is still an ongoing project.

On Twitter, Platinum Games released a statement about Babylon's Fall. The team has revealed that they are still working on the game, though they are working from home. The team had hoped to showcase more of the game this summer, but that plan did not come to fruition.

"Thank you to all fans who've been following along for updates on Babylon's Fall," stated the tweet.

"While we hoped to reveal more about the game this summer, we can share that development on Babylon's Fall is continuing to progress well, with the team working safely from home.

"Square Enix and Platinum Games are committed to delivering and exhilarating experience and we look froward to showcasing much more on Babylon's Fall to you as soon as we can."

It is likely that the team is working from home due to COVID-19. It is a possibility that the Babylon's Fall team may not be working at full capacity due to working at home. The Final Fantasy VII Remake team recently revealed that they are not working at 100% due to working at home, so it is possible that Platinum Games may be experiencing the same difficulties.

Not much is currently known about Babylon's Fall. The game was revealed at Square Enix's showcase during E3 2018. The game was originally meant to release in 2019, though it was delayed indefinitely. The game was the focus of one of Sony's State of Play presentations this past December, where a new trailer had been released for the title. According to Platinum Games, an original "brushwork" filter effect gave the gameplay footage in the trailer its dreamy, painterly effect.

Babylon's Fall is set to release on PC and PlayStation 4. It is currently unknown when the game will release, though it will likely be sooner than later as the next-gen consoles will release later this year.
