Following rumors that the Gears of War franchise would be making its PlayStation debut this year, we now have confirmation of this, straight from the Xbox Wire.
Gears of War: Reloaded will be released on August 26th, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5, and Steam. It is a faithful remaster of the original Gears of War title, which was released on the Xbox 360 in 2006.
It will cost $39.99 on all platforms and will be available day one with Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. Those who already own the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will get a free upgrade to Gears of War: Reloaded.
"As we approach the 20th anniversary of Gears of War in 2026, we’re reflecting on what this franchise means," said Mike Crump, Studio head for developer The Coalition. "It’s about the stories we’ve told, the friendships we’ve built, and the unforgettable moments we’ve shared together. With Gears of War: Reloaded, we’re opening that door to more players than ever."
Sumo Interactive and Disbelief are partnering with The Coalition to develop Gears of War: Reloaded.
