Gears Of War Is Coming To PlayStation For The First Time Ever With This Remaster

It's happening - Gears of War is no longer an Xbox console exclusive. After a lengthy history of being one of Microsoft's most iconic exclusives, the series will now be playable on PS5.

This comes in the form of Gears of War: Reloaded, a remaster of the first game from 2006. Gears of War: Reloaded is launching on August 26 of this year, coming to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Gears of War: Reloaded was revealed to be coming to PS5 right out of the gate, so Xbox is clearly not trying to hide the fact that the series is not longer exclusive to its own console. It will also be coming to PS5 the same day as Xbox Series X/S and PC, so it won't be a limited time exclusive as we saw with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Given the success of Oblivion Remastered, it's safe to say that the multiplatform release strategy is here to stay.
