"Xbox Is Dead Again": Gears Of War On PlayStation Has Xbox Fans Seething

In case you missed it, Gears of War is no longer an Xbox console exclusive. Beginning this August, the game will make its debut on PlayStation hardware via Gears of War Reloaded, a remaster of the iconic 2006-era third-person cover shooter.

Gears of War's release on rival hardware will follow the recent release of Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation 5, a title that PlayStation fans have quickly fallen in love with. It leaves Halo as the last "pillar" of Xbox to remain on the console, though that future is rather murky.

What happens to the console when Master Chief jumps ship?

Following Monday's blockbuster announcement, Xbox fans took to Reddit to discuss the news, and, well, they weren't happy.

"Gears coming to PS5? What is even the point of owning an Xbox in 2025?" one user wrote. That's a valid assessment, but owning an Xbox does allow players to make use of Game Pass and the sheer number of titles it offers.

"Kinda (messed) up PlayStation gets all of our (games), but when is PlayStation gonna send a game our way?" another user chimed in with. As cool as console exclusives are, this is the unfortunate reality...
