The dates for Marvel's Avenger's beta have been revealed.
The beta dates were first revealed by IGN as a part of its IGN First coverage of Marvel's Avengers. The beta will be held in three stages over three weeks. The first week of the beta, which starts on August 7th, will be open to those who have pre-ordered the game for the PlayStation 4. The second stage will open up on August 14th, and will be available for those who have pre-ordered the title for PC and Xbox. The PlayStation open beta will also begin that week. The final week of the beta will begin on August 21st, and will be open to everyone.
It was also announced that the second War Table presentation, which will be held on July 29th, will focus on the upcoming beta. The War Table will tease what players can expect, including co-op missions, hero progression, and more.
"We built the beta in such a way that you can experience most of the things that you'll be doing in the full game," Creative Director Shaun Escayg told IGN. "That means playing a piece of the original single-player Avengers story campaign, fighting through co-op missions, experiencing hero and world progression, and exploring War Zones and DROP ZONES, a new kind of mission we'll talk about in the upcoming War Table on July 29th. This beta is meaty, but it's only a small part of the finished game."
Last month it was revealed that Marvel's Avengers will be coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The upgraded versions of the upcoming title will feature extremely fast load times, boosted resolution and fidelity, improved texturing and armor damage, ray tracing, and more. Those who buy Marvel's Avengers on current-gen hardware will be able to upgrade to the next-gen versions for free. All progress made in the game will transfer over. The game will also support cross-gen play, which means that PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 gamers can play together, while Xbox One and Xbox Series X players can join up together.
Marvel's Avengers will release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 4th. The game will make its over to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X this holiday season.
