The Xbox exclusives being ported to PlayStation parade has reached the Gears of War gates. Gears of War: Reloaded launches this summer on Xbox and PlayStation, but there's a benefit for the former if you're an Xbox lover who's feeling down about your chosen platform losing its exclusives.

In the Gears of War: Reloaded reveal, Xbox revealed that those who own a digital copy of Gears of War's Ultimate Edition will be able to upgrade to Reloaded for free. No $10 upgrade path which is the chosen method on PS5 and now Nintendo Switch 2, just a free upgrade for anyone who committed to the best-looking version of the original Gears of War when it launched in 2015.

First Forza, now Gears of War?

The Ultimate Edition is still available now, not only on Game Pass, but also on the Xbox Store for $19.99. If the cogs have started to turn regarding how much money you might be able to save on Reloaded, hold on for just a second. Yes, Reloaded will cost $39.99, which seemingly means you can buy the Ultimate Edition now and get it for $19.99. Unfortunately, that's not the case.
