Cyberpunk 2077 Devs Claim Nintendo's Audience "Different" From What It Used To Be

When the Nintendo Switch 2 was revealed last month, we saw the usual suspects: first-party Nintendo games headlined by Mario & Co. which didn't come as a surprise.

What did come as a shock was seeing mature third-party titles like Cyberpunk 2077 get announced, since that doesn't seem to fit the demographic Nintendo's going after, right?

CD Projekt RED Thinks The Nintendo Audience Is Now Different From Years Past

According to Jan Rosner, VP of Business Development at CD Projekt RED (via The Game Business), Nintendo's audience is growing, and much wider than it was years ago.

"Nintendo’s audience is growing and broadening and it's quite a bit different from what it used to be even a few years ago. “I think Nintendo is realizing that, and we have seen a big number of titles announced on the Switch 2 which you would maybe not immediately think of when it comes to [Nintendo]. With that said, we have also had the very cool experience with The Witcher 3 on the original Switch. And we know that there is an appetite for big open world AAA RPGs, which you would normally expect to be released on PC and [other] consoles,"...
