Sony is adding another studio to the PlayStation Studios family, though this one is a familiar face given they are a team that originated from Bungie, a studio Sony acquired in July 2022 for a sum of $3.6 billion.
The studio is known as teamLFG, and this is a term mostly used by online players as "Looking For Groups" to party up if they need online buddies to play with. The newly-acquired studio's LFG has the same meaning, which heavily leans into their project in development.
PlayStation's Newly-Acquired Studio Is Focusing On Multiplayer Games
The announcement confirms that the studio is working on a multiplayer game, though details remain scarce for now. Headquartered in Bellevue, WA, teamLFG has employees working on-site and remotely throughout the US and Canada. Some of the games the team members have worked on include Destiny, Halo, League of Legends, Fortnite, Roblox and Rec Room. If you notice a pattern, it's because the studio is currently pursuing a similiar game that's built with online multiplayer in mind.
