Shin Megami Tensei V has been given a release window, while a remake of Shin Megami Tensei 3 has been announced.
Today, during a Nintendo Direct presentation (which can be seen here), a new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V was released. According to the trailer (seen here), the God that we worship is dead. The trailer states that "Order itself has crumbled, and chaos shall reign over all." The trailer then asks "In a world without its Creator, which path shall you choose?" The trailer ends by stating that "The time for Creation has come." It also reveals that Shin Megami Tensei V will release for the Nintendo Switch in 2021, and that it will be a worldwide simultaneous release. While we do see what can be assumed to be the main character of the game, the trailer does leave a lot of questions.
The trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V was not the only thing pertaining to the series shown during the Nintendo Direct presentation. It was also announced that a full remake for Shin Megami Tensei 3 is on the way. Entitled Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD Remaster, the game will be updated to fit modern visuals. A trailer was released for the game (which can be seen here), and shows the new look that the game will sport. The trailer does state that Nocturne HD Remaster will release in Spring 2021.
Shin Megami Tensei V was first revealed in 2017. The game was shown off during the Nintendo Switch's reveal event, but not much information about the upcoming title has been released since. Shin Megami Tensei 3 was first released for the PlayStation 2 in 2003, and is considered to be a cult classic. It is unknown if the game will include any new content similar to other remasters that developer Atlus releases.
Shin Megami Tensei V will release for the Nintendo Switch in 2021. Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD Remaster will release for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2021.
