With just two days until the Xbox Games Showcase, Obsidian may be teasing news for its RPGThe Outer Worlds.
We already knew the game would be getting DLC after it took home several awards in 2019, but a new tweet from the game's account seems to suggest news is imminent, or at least that their website is looking fancier and ready to host such a reveal.
"Greetings employees of Halcyon,
The Board is pleased to announce that we have been able to acquire a portion of The Outer Worlds website! Feel free to take an additional 5-minute break today to visit the website, you've earned it!"
The tweet then links to the Outer Worlds section of Obsidian's homepage.
Though it's fair for one to wonder if that 2020 DLC has fallen out of the calendar year due to the pandemic, comments on the game's forums by its social manager last December indicated, at least before the world fell apart, that the expansion would arrive in 2020 (thanks Windows Central).
[T]he journey isn't over yet as we are excited to announce that we will be expanding the story through DLC next year! Details will be made available at a later date.
While it's likely nothing will be certain until Thursday's Xbox Games Showcase begins at 9 am Pacific time, we do know for sure that Obsidian is quite busy these days. Its small team working on Grounded is preparing to launch next week, while there exists at least one other team working on neither The Outer Worlds nor Grounded. Some have speculated we'll finally see the fruits of that labor. Given the timing of everything, maybe we'll even see all three.
We'll have a link to watch the Xbox Games Showcase right here on Thursday, so come back and watch with us beginning at 9 am Pacific.
