Oblivion Remastered was released two weeks ago, bringing forth a new generation of Oblivion players who are discovering the wonders of the fourth instalment in the Elder Scrolls, nineteen years after the game's original release.

Oblivion's quirky level scaling systems quickly became a hot topic among the new player base. For those unfamiliar, almost everything in Oblivion scales with the player's level. This includes the types of enemies that spawn, the quality of enemies' equipment, the quality of loot that spawns and the stats of some unique items (which are calculated based on the player's level when they acquire them).

The first system has been an especially relevant topic given the discussion surrounding one of the game's first main quests, Find the Heir. When Oblivion Remastered was first released, veteran players warned newcomers to complete this quest before levelling their character.

The aforementioned Find the Heir and related quest Battle for Castle Kvatch involve repelling a daedra attack on the now-destroyed city of Kvatch.
