Nintendo Alleviates Fears Of Original Switch Owners By Promising New Games Will Continue To Be Released

With the Nintendo Switch 2 set to debut next month, original Switch owners might assume they'll be forced to upgrade since Nintendo-developed games will no longer be available on the platform once its successor is out.

Thankfully, that won't be the case, as some of the company's biggest franchises are still going to see a release on the original Switch in 2025 and even in 2026.

Nintendo Has Core Games Set Scheduled For The Original Switch Even Up To 2026

During its latest earnings report, Nintendo confirmed that it plans to support the Switch. “Going forward, we will continue to bring out new titles for the over 100 million people worldwide who are playing Nintendo Switch," the company shared (thanks, Genki!).

The first-party Nintendo games confirmed to be releasing on the original Switch (and will also be available on the Switch 2) include:

There is a chance some of these games will be delayed or canceled, but we doubt that, given the 100 million reasons not to do so.
