While all eyes may be on the Nintendo Switch 2 right now, Nintendo still has plenty of exciting games in the works for the original Switch console. The original Nintendo Switch has been a massive success, to the point where it still stands a realistic shot of one day becoming the best-selling video game console of all time. The Switch 1 managed to pull off this ridiculous feat by providing an incredible library of games for fans to enjoy.
The original Switch is home to some of the highest-rated games of all time, like the open-world epic The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the beloved 3D platformer Super Mario Odyssey. With the original Switch having such a massive install base, it's no surprise that Nintendo is not ready to leave it behind, and will in fact be releasing new games for the system this year and in 2026.
