The Final Fantasy crossover with Magic: The Gathering will let players run the most unusual deck of all, as it’s possible to have a cube consisting entirely of the various Cids that appeared throughout the series.
With the exception of the first entry in the series, each Final Fantasy game has a character named Cid. Usually, these are older scientists or engineers, most of whom are allies of the party. A handful of Cids are party members, while one has been a villain.
Final Fantasy fans were expecting the Cids to show up in the Magic: The Gathering crossover, but they probably weren’t expecting all of them to be playable in one deck. It was revealed that this was possible during a panel at PAX East, with artwork of all fifteen Cids revealed.
Magic: The Gathering Players Can Have A Cid-Only Deck
All of the fifteen Cids are identical in terms of mechanics. The Cid, Timeless Artificer cards are 4/4 creatures that cost four mana (one blue, one white, and two of any color), with Cycling, letting the player spend a white and a blue mana to discard the card to draw a card.
