The second part of Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Summer Update is coming, and will add a few new features.
On the Animal Crossing website, it was revealed that Wave 2 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Summer Update will release on July 30th. The first new feature coming in the update will be fireworks shows. Every Sunday in August at 7:00 p.m., players will be able to experience a fireworks display. Players will be able to put their own spin on the display by using their own custom design pattern that will be shot into the air as a firework. Gamers will also be able to redeem Bells for raffle tickets in the plaza to get festive items that they can use.
The upcoming New Horizons update will also add dreaming to the game. Players will now be able to take a nap in any bed in their home, and will find themselves in a strange realm where they will be greeted by Luna. Luna will allows players to visit other islands as dreams, and will let gamers share their islands as a dream that others can visit as well. Luna will give those who share their island as a dream a "Dream Address" that players can exchange in order to visit each other's islands as dreams. Players can explore dream islands to their heart's content as nothing that they do will be saved.
The last feature being added to New Horizons later this week is the Island Backup and Restoration Service. Nintendo Switch Online members will be able to enable the island backup service, which automatically uploads island and user save data to the internet at certain times. If someone loses or damages their Switch they may be able to recover their island as long as they had the feature enabled. Additional details for the island backup service will be available on the Nintendo Consumer Support page when the update goes live.
Nintendo did announce that the next update coming to New Horizons is the free Autumn Update, though no dates on when the update will release were given.
