New details have emerged regarding Elden Ring Nightreign's story, with director Juna Ishizaki sharing clarifying key elements about the game. While Elden Ring Nightreign shares the same base setting seen in Elden Ring, Ishizaki states that players can expect things to play out on "a different stage." There have been big changes to The Lands Between, the homeworld of Elden Ring, with something called Night Lord, a "calamity" of sorts, seeping throughout the world.
While FromSoftware's commitment to delivering satisfying boss fights, delicate and challenging combat, and dark, oppressive worlds has remained central to its design philosophy over the decades, the studio's knack for constructing rich lore is also a big reason players continue to come back for more.
