Developer Skydance Games has announced that its upcoming action-adventure period piece Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been delayed.
In a message on social media platform X, Skydance says that Rise of Hydra, which was originally slated for a 2025 release, will now be arriving in "early 2026". No new release date or more specific window has been given, but since the game didn't have a release date to start with, that's no great sin.
The reasons for the game's delay are pretty much exactly what you'd expect. Skydance says it needs more time to "add more polish" to Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, and to ensure that the game offers the "best possible experience", living up to the developer's "vision".
In July last year, it was announced that Skydance would be teaming up with Embracer-owned publisher Plaion for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, which Skydance said would be a "multiplatform, worldwide release".
As such, when the game does arrive, it's likely we can expect it to land on PC and current-gen consoles, and it doesn't sound like Rise of Hydra will be exclusive to either ecosystem either.
