Nintendo of America recently released a 'Creator's Voice' video, where Borderlands 4 developer Gearbox Software speaks about the process of developing Borderlands 4 for the Nintendo Switch 2, the upcoming Nintendo console.

Traditionally, triple-A developers outside of Nintendo have struggled with the company's hardware. Nintendo's technology has generally lagged behind that of Microsoft and Sony, making it difficult for third-party developers to create games for all three systems because of the technological constraints of Nintendo's consoles.

This hasn't always been a negative; Nintendo's consoles often prioritise price over power. We could be leaving this era, however, as the Nintendo Switch 2 is considered reasonably powerful, and many fans believe the console is also quite expensive, too.

"The Nintendo Switch 2 has been a joy to work with," Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford says during the video. "It's very powerful. It's an incredible machine in a very tight form factor, and we love being on the bleeding edge with our graphics and the experience we're creating. The Nintendo Switch 2 makes all that possible."
