A special event is coming up for those who had tickets to the recent Pokemon GO Fest.
During the first day of the Pokemon GO Fest 2020, players experienced some technical difficulties. To make up for the difficulties, Pokemon GO developer Niantic has announced that they will hold a special makeup event for those who had tickets to GO Fest 2020. The event will take place on August 16th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time.
During the event, there will be three habitat hours: Fire, Water, and Friendship. The Fire hour will start at 11:00 a.m., the Water hour will begin at 12:00 p.m., and the Friendship hour will finish things off at 1:00 p.m. During those hours, Pokemon having to do with those habitats will appear more frequently in the wild. Incense will be more effective at attracting the hour's featured Pokemon, with certain Pokemon only showing up when the incense is active. There will be a special free box featuring two Incense and two Remote Raid Passes, while Gifts opened during the event can contain Rare Candies. Any Incense activated during the event will last for one hour.
The GO Fest 2020 makeup day is not the only event that is coming up. It was recently announced that the next Community Day will take place on August 8th, and will feature Magikarp. The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. During this time, Magikarp will appear more frequently in the wild, with the chance of running into a shiny version of the Pokemon. Evolving Magikarp during the event or up to two hours afterward will reward players with a Gyarados that knows Aqua Tail. Since it takes quite some Candy to evolve Magikarp, there will be event-exclusive Field Research tasks that will help players earn Magikarp Candies. There will be a special one-time-purchase August Community Day Box, as well as a Community Day-exclusive Special Research story entitled Making a Splash! There will be a 3x catch Stardust bonus, and any Incense activated during the event will last for three hours.
Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
