Overwatch's Summer Games event is back, and brings back special modes and loot.

Overwatch's Summer Games 2020 began today, August 4th, and will go on until August 25th. During the event, players will be able to enjoy a couple of event-only modes, and will be able to earn special loot only available during the event.

The two modes available during the Summer Games are Lucioball and Lucioball Remix. Lucioball. Overwatch's futuristic spin on soccer is back, having players compete to see who can score the most goals. Lucioball Remix is similar to the original mode, but is faster and more chaotic. In this version of Lucioball, two balls will be in play at the same time, with bonus balls worth extra points periodically spawning in the arena. There are also updates to the arenas that Lucioball will be played in, bringing different options to the field and letting players have more opportunities to show off their skills.

There are also weekly challenges that players can complete in order to earn special loot. Players have to win games in Quick Play, Competitive Play, or the Arcade to earn these items. You can check below to see what the weekly rewards are:

Week 1 (August 4th - August 11th):

  • 3 Wins: Baseballmari Player Icon
  • 6 Wins: Union Jack Spray
  • 9 Wins: Union Jack Tracer Epic Skin

Week 2 (August 11th - August 18th):

  • 3 Wins: Golfimari Player Icon
  • 6 Wins: Sand Castle Spray
  • 9 Wins: Sand Castle Bastion Epic Skin

Week 3 (August 18th - August 25th):

Players will be able to obtain special Loot Boxes that contain items exclusive to the Summer Games. These boxes will have new skins, player icons, voice lines, emotes, victory poses, and more. Items from previous Summer Games events will also be available in these special Loot Boxes. You can check here to see everything that can be found in these Loot Boxes.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
