With Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 already shaking things up with new subclasses and a slick photo mode, players quickly noticed something off. A stray bit of voice acting that wasn’t just out of place but also hinted at a storyline that flat-out didn’t exist.
Now, it’s quietly erased through a hotfix since it was a mystery Larian would probably prefer you didn’t notice in the first place.
A Corpse in Baldur’s Gate 3 Said Too Much
To the untrained eye, it’s a non-issue. But Baldur’s Gate 3 players aren’t exactly the “let it go” type. Some had already stumbled across the odd moment where casting Speak with Dead on Minthara could trigger a line that dropped a bombshell: she was going to be a mother.
There’s no questline tied to it. Just a single line, fully voiced, pointing to a version of her character arc that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the game.
And now, with Hotfix #31, that dialogue is officially gone. Just like that. It’s now clear those scraps weren’t meant to see the light of day. At least, not in the final game.
