Battlefield 6's Campaign Will Seemingly Take Cues From Dead Space, A24's Civl War Movie

While playtests are currently ongoing for the next Battlefield game, presumably titled Battlefield 6, it's worth noting that when the game does launch (sometime before April 2026) it'll have a full-length campaign.

Electronic Arts and DICE need to return to their roots for Battlefield 6.

During the game's initial reveal, it was announced that Criterion, the team behind the most recent Need for Speed entries, would be handling the campaign, effectively putting the racing series on ice. Now, in a new interview, the game's executive producer has shed light on what fans can expect in the mode, including some of its inspirations.

As first spotted by Insider Gaming, in a new interview with Inverse, executive producer Philippe Ducharme shared that Alex Garland's Civil War film is one of the campaign's inspirations.

"Some of the things that we’re pushing [in this game], the film is actually a good reference," Ducharme said. For reference, the film follows citizen journalists documenting the titular Civil War in modern-day America.

Creative director Roman Campos-Oriola echoed those sentiments, adding, "The elements we’re really interested in is the concept of talented but ordinary people put in extraordinary situations. That creates a very interesting dynamic in...
