Fake Esquie Plushies Are All Over The Internet But Clair Obscure Devs Have Positive News

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 came out of nowhere, and has quickly become one of the contenders for Game of the Year. Not only did it sell a million copies in one day, but it also claimed the spot of highest-rated game in 2025 so far. Not content with that, the game casually took the mantle of highest-rated user-scored game on Metacritic ever.

Clair Obscur is a French game made by a French team, and that dynamic is too rare.

A lot of this is down to the game's artistic choices and setting, while the unique approach to turn-based combat undoubtedly helped. Aside from those, it seems that players absolutely love the design of the enemies and the continent. However, one friendly guy has particularly stood out. Fans will know that I'm talking about Esquie, of course.

Clair Obscur fans already let the devs know about their adoration for Esquie, begging Sandfall to commission a plushie for the character. CEO Guillaume Broche hinted that it already may be in the works. However, soon after that, it seems there were a slew of fake or AI-rendered Esquie plushies on the internet.
