Id Software is the gift that keeps on giving. Instead of just making more Doom, every new entry is an evolution of the 2016 title. While the first game in the new series had us run and gun, Eternal had us play combat chess, and now, The Dark Ages makes us stand and fight. The new combat mechanics makes the Slayer go head-to-head with some of the biggest demons hell has to offer, and instead of strafe-shooting, he stands his ground.
